renovation of the Maison communale of Auderghem and the CPAS

The building is an integral part of the great history of modern architecture and development in Brussels in the second half́ of the 20th century. It is part of a particularly generous network of public and landscaped spaces.

The renovation of the Maison Communale and the hosting, in addition to communal services, of a series of institutions also dedicated to citizens (the CPAS, Actiris, the Maison de l'Emploi, the library and the ludothèque) represent a great opportunity to confirm and reinforce its status as a citizens' home. The aim is to assert a place open to all, enabling synergies and developing pleasant and diversified reception and work spaces.

The most appropriate approach to renovating the building is to de-clutter it and clarify its spaces: by deconstructing all that is superfluous, proposing a programmatic reorganization and carrying out a series of surgical interventions to magnify what is already there.
